➤ Character
Name: Figaro Garcia
Canon: Mahoutsukai no Yakusoku
Canon Point: after Magic in the Air; a Flower in your Care (1st anniversary event)
Age: Looks and claims to be 32, is actually 2000+

History: Story translations can be found here and here.

- Figaro was born around 2000 years ago, but not much is known about his family because they all died in an avalanche that swallowed his entire hometown. He had to roam the world before a pair of peculiar twin wizards, Snow and White, took him in and taught him all there is to know about magic.
- The twins had also taken in Oz, a wizard with exemptionally strong magic, and while Figaro initially suggested they kill him, he helped take care of him anyway.
- While Oz came and went from their little group, they kept encountering each other many times for centuries. It was then that Figaro suggested that Oz should take over the world to fill the lonely void in his heart, and so they did.
- Figaro and Oz set up a lot of bases and killed a whole bunch of stronger wizards, though Figaro had to spare Shylock and his bar because the latter gave him sound advice (and also because he liked the drinks there, smh).
- Oz then heard the news that Snow killed White out of self-defense after fighting with one another, and had to stop conquering the world out of grief and returns to the North. Figaro had to find another way to pass the time, and with the news that Snow was able to tie White's soul to himself as a ghost, there might be hope that they can go back to the way they used to be.
- With Oz's tyranny coming to a sudden halt, wars were beginning to break out worldwide as the previous Central monarchy fell. Faust, a young wizard who aimed to revolutionize the world together with his human friend Alec, sought Figaro out for magic lessons and Figaro took him in for a year.
- But right on the brink of victory, Figaro suddenly ghosted Faust and the revolution effort and left him to burn at the stake after being betrayed by Alec.
- He settled down in the peaceful Southern Country and became a small-town doctor after that, but he was still up to no good - such as capturing Bradley, the leader of a notorious bandit group, in order to show humans that good wizards can catch bad wizards and punish them :)
- He also killed a wizard at some point and stole their surname just because it has a good ring to it??? Insane, but he ain't wrong
- He'd also helped in taking care of Arthur, the young wizard Oz had chanced upon in the North (and the crown prince of the Granvelle Kingdom Kingdom), after initially suggesting that they kill him to prevent him from becoming Oz's weakness (wow deja-vu)
- The twins predict that the second son of Figaro's witch friend, Tiletta, is going to kill the Sage's Southern Wizards who were chosen to fight off the Great Calamity (read: the moon) and stopping it from ending their world. Figaro couldn't convince Tiletta to abort her child, so the least he can do is kneecap her son's potential by refusing to teach him magic and giving him a spell that's hard to pronounce. He does watch over Tiletta's children, named Rutile and Mitile respectively, after she passes away after giving birth to Mitile.
- Aaaand then he's summoned as one of the Sage's wizards anyway, whoops. This is where the main story comes to play.

Personality:
+ KIND
Figaro is a bit of an anomaly in the North, who usually operate by themselves, for themselves. While most Northern wizards are aloof and intimidating, Figaro is one of the only ones who enjoys helping wizards and humans alike. Even driving an entire species of venomous bird to extinction with little remorse is an act of kindness to him, because he'll always choose the side of humans rather than the monsters that he's been compared to.

+ RELIABLE
Ever since he was a child, Figaro was already serving to protect humans in the harsh Northern climate. Figaro is awfully dependable in every era and place he's been in, and is shown to be very good at taking care of and teaching people, with how he took care of Oz when they were still in Snow and White's guidance (and Arthur when Oz took the little boy under his wing) and how he practically raised the Flores brothers in the South where he ended up as a village doctor.

+ INTELLIGENT/PERCEPTIVE
Snow and White often note how Figaro is a clever boy from the time they took him in as a kid. He has to be, if he's able to survive their herculean lessons. Despite coming off as a goofy drunkard at times, Figaro is a decent teacher to his fellow Southern wizards - and Faust, during the revolution. He observes people rather closely, and he could even manipulate people without using his magic if he wants. He's also a quick thinker if the situation calls for it and his methods to get things done can be a little bit unorthodox, such as cursing his blood in order to render a monster immobile when consumed.

~ ARROGANT
This is a double-edged sword because it can be hard to spot at first if one does not know Figaro's origins well. Figaro is well aware that he's a good person who does all these good deeds, and you will acknowledge him for it. He always makes it a point to bring up how nice and kind he's being to anyone who's around, which can get pretty annoying, and his humblebragging can turn into outright bragging if he's not checking himself. He is a rather capable wizard after all, despite wanting to appear meek to everyone else.

- LONELY
Wizards are no strangers to solitude with how the world and its inhabitants treat them, but Figaro knows nothing but solitude and embraces it. Sure, he's surrounded by a lot of acquaintances, but Figaro often comes and goes other people's lives, never staying in one place for a very long time. He thinks that there's no good reason to be attached to anyone in the first place, as someone who's lived for thousands of years old and has seen a lot of his friends die over the centuries. He has been seeking for a branch where he can perch and stay for a little longer and he seems to have found it in the South with the young wizard brothers, but even then he doesn't open up to them despite practically raising them after their parents' death. And all of these lead to...

- ENVIOUS/JEALOUS
Having grown up with a pair of twins who never had to know loneliness in the first place, Figaro yearned to love and be loved like that in return, but he doesn't know how to go about it. Wizards are strange in that they get hyperfixated with a very specific thing, and in Figaro's case is love - particularly becoming someone's one and only. He simply doesn't understand that apparently people can have other friends aside from him, or that it's normal to mourn for a friend who'd betrayed them, and it frustrates him. In fact, whenever someone or something gets in the way of him and his favorite people, his first impulse is to set out and eliminate the hypotenuse. Although he doesn't actually go out and kill them, but rather he'd give them a choice between him and that other person - and the unfortunate thing is that the people he's come to cherish will never choose him over the other. He's also noted to be very quick to let go; he'd ditch someone at a drop of a hat if they show no interest in him at all, before the other party lets go of his hand.

- SELF-PRESERVATION
Figaro would do anything not to lose the ones he's grown to love, which is very far and few between. This trait also falls in line with his jealousy issues, but it also applies to how he had to go at lengths to staying alive a bit longer. You'd have to be a little fucked up in the head to suggest to your witch friend not to give birth to her second child after all, even if it's for a good reason. And speaking of that child, Figaro had also gone out of his way not to teach Mitile strong magic in fear that he might actually kill Figaro and the rest of the Southern Wizards as stated by the prophecy seen by the twins, and has maintained a lie of being a clumsy "daddy-next-door" figure to him and Rutile to earn their trust while not opening up to them himself.

GREATEST MOTIVATION
To love and be loved. Figaro has lived an excruciatingly long life and has never known love, and even though he puts everyone at arms' length, he still wishes to experience it - especially before he dies. If his death is going to be inevitable, Figaro would want to go out having accomplished something in this world and to be able to connect with someone on a special level.

MUNDANE INTERESTS
Figaro sure loves to drink! He is also a great dancer and is pretty lively at parties. He also likes to travel to faraway places. He is also a bit of a flirt, but with his terrible commitment issues it rarely ever goes anywhere if at all.

NEW SITUATIONS
As someone who's well-travelled, Figaro is quick to adapt in any situation, eerily calm regardless of the situations. He would build camaraderie with anyone but would also investigate on his own about their whereabouts.

Abilities:

- WIZARD: Wizards in MahoYaku use their hearts to perform magic, so there must be a right balance of a wizard's own spirit and the environment they surround themselves in. The clearer a picture they can form in their mind, the more likely their magic will succeed, and a wizard can do typical enough magic like levitation, transformation, flight - any form of magic under the sun so long as they know what they're doing. A wizard can also use their personalized magic spell to tap into their inner magic, and utilize their magic tools to help enhance it further.

Still, it's all dependent on a wizard's strengths and specialties though, and even magic can't do the impossible such as bringing back the dead to life, time travel (freezing time is possible for a few moments though), and making something out of nothing (except sugar; a wizard starts out learning magic by making sugar first and it's not as easy as it looks). But the most important catch is that — if a wizard makes a promise and they break it, they will lose their powers forever.

Lastly, despite the fact that wizards can live for thousands of years, they aren't completely immortal and they turn into mana stones when they die - precious jewels that can be eaten to bolster a wizard's magical power or even power some of the magical technology in their world. Moreover they can sense their impending death, whether it'll happen tomorrow or a couple years later. Figaro already knows his time is coming, and even the identity of the person who'll be responsible for his death - but who knows when that'll actually happen.

- HEALING MAGIC: He is a doctor in a magical world, so it's natural that he'd be able to patch someone up with magic. Southern wizards excel in spells that bring about blessings and peace, but while Rutile and Mitile specialize in healing magic and potionmaking respectively, Figaro is the only one in the current cast of Sage's Wizards who can completely heal someone from the brink of death. And this leads to the next point which is...

- OFFENSIVE MAGIC: As a wizard originally born in the freezing North, Figaro is blessed with exemptionally strong magic power (which he currently tries to hide in the present day due to various reasons). He can do things like throwing energy balls at the target and manipulating the elements around him, he can merely kill something on the spot with a snap of his fingers (like an entire species of bird) or even pull off out-of-the-box ideas like the aforementioned blood-cursing.

- MIND CONTROL: His specialty magic. He can instill fear onto people in order to repair their damaged souls, induce sleep to someone to make them rest, and even wipe their memories clean. He can only use this particular power on wizards who are weaker than him, and there will be an opt-in post for this one.

Inventory:
- his broomstick
- his amulet, a magical trinket that reflects a wizard's mana area so that they can recharge their magic when they're away for a long time.
- his orb, which is a magic tool that enhances a wizard's magic.

Vision: Cryo
Reason: Figaro had lost his family at a very young age and was still hung up on it to the point of almost drowning in the freezing ocean as he tried to follow the moon's reflection in the water, thinking that his parents and the ones that came and went in his life were residing in the moon after death. Moreover, as a wizard he has a #complicated stance in love; he yearns for it so much yet is awfully afraid of it, hence his immense jealous streak. He also loves humanity, and he strives for a world where humans and wizards can finally get along.
Role: Healer at first glance, but a mad DPS if he chooses to unleash his true potential. So an offensive healer, I guess?
Constellation: A heart :)
