About the Game
What is Stella Fortuna?
Stella Fortuna is a panfandom adventure game set in the world of Genshin Impact.
Characters will arrive after agreeing to help Teyvat and entering a contract with Forneus, the God of Time. They will receive a catalyst that will allow them to manipulate one of Teyvat’s seven elemental forces. They may choose to enjoy life in Teyvat as a slice-of-life experience, or they may also choose to investigate the ruins and secrets that are dotted around the land - for their greatest strength is being unbound by pre-ordained fate, and it is this freedom that will let them steer Teyvat away from predestined ruin.
I heard there were time loops?
Time loops are a game mechanic that will appear in certain event months. They were heavily involved in Chapter 1 of Stella Fortuna's plot. When a time loop occurs, characters will be able to notice that the state of the world resets itself every seven days. Berries that have been picked will regrow, and animals that have been hunted will respawn. Clocks and calendars will show that time has regressed by seven days once Sunday has ended, returning to the start of the week. World changes enacted by NPCs will also be reversed - farms needing to be tended to again, deliveries to be re-sent, and floors to be re-swept. The NPCs will not be cognizant that a time loop is happening, nor will they realize that the player characters are from another world. When such things are mentioned, they will brush it off or ignore the statement entirely.
The time loop will respawn monsters, NPCs and player characters should they be killed. Damaged buildings and infrastructure will repair themselves once the week resets. The only way to permanently change the world is through the actions of player characters. By delving into ruins or responding to quests put up by the locals, they are able to resolve conflicts and uncover the hidden history of Teyvat.
Due to overwhelming IC objection, time loops have become a rarely-employed event mechanic starting from April 2021.
What is the IC:OOC ratio?
The game operates on a 1:1 IC and OOC ratio.
How long will the game run?
Stella Fortuna opened in January 2021, and our current game plan will cover Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma. We project the game to end in December 2021 after the conclusion of the Inazuma chapter, due to a lack of material from the original Genshin Impact game.
Can I play here?
Currently, playing in Stella Fortuna is on an invite basis. Players must obtain an invite from an existing player to apply. You must have been in the game for at least one month to invite another player.
There is a cap of 20 players, and each player may play up to 2 characters. Mods are included in the player count.
NEW! How do I find out what's already happened in the game?
We now have a plot summary page! Each month's discoveries will be updated here as well.
What’s the Activity Check like?
The monthly activity check will require players to submit 2 threads of at least 5 comments from their character. Threads from the log community and inbox both count. Activity above the minimum for AC can be submitted for bonuses and regains.
NEW! How are hiatuses handled?
The character can either be put on autopilot, or be put into soul maintenance. This involves Forneus taking them into his pocket dimension and placing them into temporal stasis while he stabilizes their souls from periodic disturbances. The character must also have consented to continue staying after the maintenance is complete; i.e. if they wish to go home afterward, they will be allowed to do so.
Is there a network?
Digital technology has not yet been invented in Teyvat, so there is no network. However, player characters can certainly send snail mail to their friends. Maybe they’ll receive snail mail from NPCs, too.
Applications
What characters can I app here?
Canon characters and original characters are accepted. Characters may come in with CRAU from one previous game. Silent and customizable protagonists are accepted as long as they can demonstrate a concrete personality from ingame dialogue choices.
Please note that your character will have to consent to being brought to Teyvat. Forneus, the NPC, will offer them the ability to keep their elemental power as a reward. If your character requires more incentives, please contact us and we can work things out with you.
Is there an app period? What about reserves?
As of April 2021, applications have changed to a rolling basis. There is no reserve system for now due to the smallness of the game.
What happens to characters who were dead or injured at their canon point?
Dead characters will be revived. Injuries can also be healed, though this is up to the player to decide how much of their injury will be restored. However, bearing injuries will restrict the character’s ability to travel.
Can I app characters from Genshin Impact?
Yes, you can. However, these characters will come with a caveat, which is that they must continue to perform their duties as per canon. For example, if a player apps Jean, they must also be okay with handling any Knights of Favonius-related matters, and interact with any characters who wish to join the Knights.
The arrival process for Genshin characters is a little different. Rather than coming from another world, they will still be present in the setting from the beginning as NPCs. They will also not be able to recognize the time loop’s existence up until the point where they are apped, at which they will ‘wake up’ and be able to permanently change the setting like other player characters. Naturally, they will not receive a Vision upon acceptance and will continue to use their current Vision. They will also not be subject to any power reset or nerfs, with the exception of the Archons and some Adepti characters to keep the playing field balanced across the playerbase.
We highly encourage players to app characters from a canon point that is before Genshin Impact's Archon Quests. If you wish to apply from a canon point that is later than the start of Liyue Arc, your character may be subject to certain restrictions on arrival.
We are looking for a Childe player as an NPC.
The Archons (currently Venti and Zhongli) will have plot involvement in Stella Fortuna. Applying for these characters will require the player to work with the mod team regarding plot development.
Paimon and the Traveler siblings are at this point not able to be apped.
Will my character keep their powers? What about companions like Pokemon?
At the beginning, no. Characters with superhuman capabilities will be nerfed to the level of an ordinary human. Humanization is not required, though you may choose to humanize your character if you wish. Extremely large characters will be shrunk down to a height where they can fit through human-sized doors. Animal ears, tails, wings and the like can be kept, however they must not confer any superhuman abilities, such as enhanced hearing or flight.
Characters may bring one companion creature. The companion will also be subjected to nerfs on a case-by-case basis.
Characters may regain their canon abilities through bonus activity or event participation.
What about items?
Characters will arrive with whatever is on their person as long as it can be reasonably carried. If the item requires a power source (such as a phone), it will function until the power source runs out or an alternative is found in Teyvat. Magical artifacts will lose their magical power and revert to ordinary objects.
Characters may regain objects from home through bonus activity or event participation.
How do we regain things through bonus activity?
Currently, we propose a system where players can turn in threads to a regain page.
A thread can be turned in when it has reached 5 comments from the player who is submitting the thread. The same thread may not be turned in twice by the same player, but it may be turned in once by each player participating in the thread.
Turning in one thread will allow the character to regain a small item from home. This item can have magical properties, but it cannot be a weapon.
Turning in two threads will allow the character to regain a minor canon ability, OR a large item from home, OR a weapon. This item can have magical properties, but in the case of weapons, its magical properties may be nerfed.
Turning in three threads will allow the character to regain a significant canon ability. High-powered abilities may need to be regained in steps or parts. This is to keep the player characters reasonably balanced and make it fair for everyone.
Details about the regain tiers and systems can be found on the bonus regains page!
World Information
Stella Fortuna takes place in the land of Teyvat, the setting of Genshin Impact. At the start of the game, only Mondstadt is available for characters to explore. Other regions such as Liyue and Dragonspine Mountain will become accessible as event quests are completed.
What happens when my character arrives?
In January 2021, characters appeared front of the fountain in Mondstadt with whatever they were carrying at their canon point.
For the April 2021 application round and beyond, characters will arrive at the current camp or city location of the Traveler group. They will also have their Vision somewhere on their person. They will be briefed by Forneus prior to arrival on their task and where they can find him as well as the other PCs. NPCs will completely not notice the character’s arrival and treat them as if they had always been there.
Tell me about the Vision.
A Vision is a catalyst bestowed on humans by one of Teyvat’s seven elemental gods, the Archons. Each Vision has a certain alignment, and Vision holders are able to manipulate their element in various ways. It also grants the wielder the ability of Elemental Sight, letting them recognize sources of elemental energy and whether something is currently being affected by one of the elements.
Player characters will arrive in the setting with their Vision already on them, either as jewelry or as an accessory. All Visions appear as a coloured glass orb bearing their elemental symbol and adorned with wings.
A gallery of all Vision designs can be found here! (source)
Pyro (Fire) - This Vision is commonly granted to characters with a strong passion for something they believe in, or to characters who are devoted to battle or war.
Hydro (Water) - This Vision is commonly granted to characters who dedicate themselves to working for a greater cause. Their adherence to an ideal or a group of people has shaped their way of thinking and their path in life.
Electro (Lightning) - This Vision is commonly granted to characters who are outcasts, or walk a path not easily accepted by those around them. Their tenacity in staying true to their own beliefs despite the storm defines their path in life.
Cryo (Ice) - This Vision is commonly granted to characters who have lost something important to them. They may choose to seek replacement to fill the void in their hearts, or they may still be in mourning for what they have lost. The Cryo Archon also favours people who have great capacity for love (both romantic and platonic), whether to a single person, to a cause, or to humanity as a whole.
Anemo (Wind) - This Vision is commonly granted to characters who hold a wish for a gentler future in their hearts. It may also be granted to characters who shoulder a great burden and wish for freedom. It is also said that the Anemo Archon prefers people who are attuned to song and verse, and will lend his power to bards and writers.
Geo (Earth) - This Vision is commonly granted to characters who have strict standards for themselves and have great persistence in achieving their personal goals. The Geo Archon values fairness and hard work, for these things will bring prosperity and wealth.

What exactly can my character do with their Vision?
In simple terms, using it to control their given element, like bending from Avatar: the Last Airbender. There are many ways to utilize elemental control, and we do not want to restrict your creativity. Characters may use it for mundane purposes, such as using their Pyro Vision to light a fire or their Hydro Vision to water plants. The Vision may also be used for combat, such as summoning lightning bolts or using wind to blow monsters away. We only ask that you specify whether your character is likely to play an offensive or a support role in such situations, so that we can better plan combat-related quests for the playerbase.
Having a Vision is also required for entry into certain ruins, and also for accessing the teleporter system on Teyvat.
Cool, does that mean my character can now blow up a house like they wanted to?
Actually, no. All characters start off at the metaphorical level one. A Pyro Vision user might be able to throw a couple fireballs, but they wouldn't be able to create huge explosions. We won't be policing power levels too closely, but we trust that players won't godmod or powermod with their Vision. ICy characters are new to using their Vision, and familiarity with controlling their element will come over time.
OOCly, players can participate in event quests to earn Stella Fortuna for their characters to increase their mastery of their element.
Does this have anything to do with that Constellation field in my app?
Definitely! A Stella Fortuna is a missing star from your character’s constellation.
What if my character doesn’t want to use their Vision?
Utilizing the Vision is entirely optional. Your character may choose to simply wear it as an ornament instead of tapping into its abilities. However, the Vision cannot be destroyed, and it will consistently return to your character if they try to throw it away, appearing next to them once they sit down. It’s very stubborn like that.
What about Elemental Reactions? I heard that this is a feature in Genshin, will you be keeping it here?
Yes. Elemental Reactions are what happens when you combine two different elements together.
Pyro + Electro = Overloaded. A miniature explosion occurs that can throw surrounding onlookers back with great force.
Pyro + Cryo = Melt. All that ice is turning into water all of a sudden.
Pyro + Hydro = Vapourize. A lot of steam will be coming off whatever triggers this reaction.
Cryo + Hydro = Frozen. Frozen objects and monsters are unable to move, and hitting them with blunt impact will shatter the ice while dealing physical damage to the unfortunate victim.
Electro + Hydro = Electro-charged. Like being electrocuted, except constant.
Cryo + Electro = Superconduct. This will weaken physical defenses of monsters.
Geo + Any element = Crystallize. This reaction produces small crystals that will interact with Vision users to produce a temporary shield around them.
Anemo + Any element = Swirl. Effectively, the Anemo element will spread other elements over a larger area.
Teleporters?
Teleport Waypoints are strange devices scattered across Teyvat. NPCs (including NPC Vision users) will notice them, but only player characters will be able to interact with them. These devices allow for fast travel between each other, though they will only transport whatever is on the character’s person at that time. The character must have visited the teleporter at least once to be able to return to it. No teleporting to places you haven't been to before!
My character wants to leave the current area.
In Janurary 2021, characters were prevented from leaving Mondstadt by a fog barrier. After April 2021, the fog barrier is no longer in place. There's nothing physically preventing them from leaving where the game's plot takes place, however they will begin to feel weak and tired when they travel a great distance from the current game's chapter, until they pass out and wake up in Forneus' office.
What happens to player characters when they die?
Death is a very real risk in Teyvat, whether in battle or from hazardous environmental conditions. Player characters who demise will vanish from the setting until the next day, when they will wake up in their bed with their Vision placed over their chest. For the next week, they will be unable to use their Vision and any canon abilities that they have regained.
Can you tell me more about the God of Time?
Forneus is a plot NPC created specially for Stella Fortuna - he isn't a character in the original game. He appears as a young man with white hair and red eyes. As of April 2021, he provides a portal in the shape of a glowing door for characters to visit him and ask questions. He has revealed that he intends to change the pre-destined fate of humanity's destruction, and to do this he requires the help of outlanders.
He will be present on almost every monthly mingle as a toplevel for interaction.
Life in Teyvat
Stella Fortuna offers the opportunity for players to thread out both slice-of-life and adventure-based interactions. Players can choose to participate in monthly event quests to earn plot clues and power-ups, or they can opt for more mundane sidequests to pass their characters’ time.
Player characters are nicknamed ‘Travelers’ by the mods. This term may be used by plot-relevant NPCs in the future.
Where does my character live?
Player characters will receive a key to an apartment somewhere in the current city (Liyue) when they arrive. Characters are likely to be sharing a building with other Travelers. They will have access to a two-room apartment with a living area and a bedroom, as well as a toilet. Fireplaces are built into the houses, but characters still have to shovel their own firewood.
The key will only open their apartment and cannot be used on other doors.
It isn’t compulsory for characters to live in their assigned house. They may bunk with friends, but only the house owner’s key will work on their door. They may also choose to live out in the wilderness and camp. Go feral and live your best life.
Luckily, there’s no rent! The house will also automagically clean itself every seven days.
What can my character do to earn money?
Money, or better known as Mora, doesn’t grow on trees. Characters can take on jobs in the setting, sign up with the Adventurer’s Guild to take on requests, or both! Materials harvested out in the wild or obtained from monsters can also be sold in the city for cash.
One Mora is roughly equivalent to one US cent. As a result, most daily necessities usually cost a few hundred Mora. There are Mora coins in larger denominations available, so that characters don't have to carry kilograms of metal around.
Tell me about the Adventurer’s Guild.
The Adventurer’s Guild is where everyone comes together to share word-of-mouth information and collate said information into quests. Citizens also come to the Adventurer’s Guild to seek help and post commissions. Registering one’s name at the Adventurer’s Guild is highly recommended for Travelers who wish to earn their keep outdoors or just want to explore. Travelers need only look at the bulletin board outside the Adventurer’s Guild to see what requests are available for the day.
What sorts of requests are usually available?
Requests are divided into two types: commissions, and quests proper.
Commissions are mundane tasks that the citizens of Teyvat need help with. This can range from food delivery, to searching for lost pets, to harvesting specific items from the wilderness, or to take down a bunch of small monsters. These quests are easy and can be completed within a day. Consequently their rewards are also rather mundane, giving a moderate amount of Mora and maybe some snacks or drinks on the side.
Commissions will also become available again after each weekly reset.
Proper quests are usually more complex and will require Travelers to investigate unusual happenings in the area. This could involve a Domain, which is something similar to your standard JRPG dungeon. Travelers can potentially receive power-up items, plot clues, or a Stella Fortuna as a reward. Completing quests will also enact permanent changes on the world.
Quests can only be completed once. A character can do both the main and side quest for each month. Choosing one doesn't lock you out of the other.
How do I go about accepting and playing out quests and commissions?
There will be a section on each monthly OOC post that will detail the quests and commissions available for the month. The mods will not thread out most quests with players; instead the OOC post will contain all important details and examples of what characters will encounter while fulfilling the request. After threading out the quest with their thread partner, the thread can then be submitted to the OOC post for their rewards.
For example:
➤ Players A and B wish to participate in a commission.
➤ Players A and B discuss amongst themselves how their characters would progress the commission using the information on the OOC post.
➤ Player B has a cool idea and checks in with the mods whether it's okay. (Optional)
➤ Players A and B then thread out their characters doing the commission.
➤ After the thread has achieved the commission’s objective, player A replies to the OOC post comment with the thread link.
➤ Mods will then comment to the thread link with the characters’ rewards.
Quest threads must be turned in for rewards in the month that the quest is active. Quest threads from the previous month cannot be turned in for rewards anymore.
Players are allowed to backtag the previous month’s commissions. However, threads of commissions from two months back cannot be turned in for rewards anymore.
Can my character post a commission?
Sure they can! Please reply to the mod contact post so we can add your commission to the list. However, the character has to ICly fork out rewards as well, so do keep that in mind while writing your request.
The cut-off time for submitting player commissions for the next month is 7 days before the end of the current month.
Where do I get weapons since my magic sword isn’t working?
Weapons in Stella Fortuna are divided into five categories: swords, claymores, spears, catalysts, and bows. Characters will receive a simple weapon from the Adventurer’s Guild when they sign up. Slightly better weapons can be purchased from the blacksmith.
As for even stronger weapons, they are obtainable either as quest rewards, or as bonuses from activity.
Can my character have more than one weapon?
Of course! You may carry as many weapons as you like. Run through Mondstadt with 3 swords in each hand, live out your Sengoku Basara dreams! However, wielding so many weapons also comes with heavy responsibilities. Don’t drop them on an unsuspecting NPC.
My character wants to start a business/offer a service!
That’s certainly possible as well. Please comment to the Locations page and fill out a description of your character’s business so we can add it to the list.
What if my character wants to do crime?
Well, no one is stopping you except the Knights of Favonius, who will forget everything come weekly reset… and your fellow Travelers, who will definitely not forget what they see. If your character is criminally inclined, do bear in mind that what they do will have IC consequences as well. Check in with mods on the mod contact page if your character wants to do something drastic, like bomb a building or something.
I have a question that isn’t answered here!
Slide us a PM or a comment and we’ll get to it lickety split. If mods have not answered your question after 48 hours, give us a poke!

powers are nerfed upon arrival and can be regained— could something of a switch to this same mechanic be used? pieck has two forms: a human form and a titan form (reaches 4m only); would it be allowed to have pieck come in her titan form, even shrunken down to size, and then regain her ability to become human? for clarification, the titan doesn’t actually do anything beyond being large and able to carry things, so it wouldn’t be any different from a horse (???).
my only reason for asking this is that being in her titan for too long ends up in her forgetting how to walk once she’s human again, and the imagery is ....... quite funny (see icon)

We aren't too familiar with Attack on Titan, so we would like to know if Pieck will be able to speak and interact with other players while in her shrunken Titan form. Would a height of 2m for her Titan form be workable for you?

If ordinary NPC peeps were asked if they heard of many people having a dream in which others happened to be asked for assistance, I assume they would generally respond 'Nope'? Just wanted to confirm, though.

> could he eat slimes ok? ( i know theyre used in cuisine but he is not going to try to cook it and will in fact just try to eat it raw...). am up for him getting sick or having side effects-- in canon he pmuch eats anything and everyone but since he doesn't have all his powers back yet i'm open to side effects etc!
> ...could he also try to eat other less traditionally edible things like hilichurls and the wolves from the quest this month. its ok if not but he would make an attempt and i am open to people stopping himself etc!
(he will not try to eat any actual people, i promise!
i hate that i need this disclaimer)no subject
Slimes are, after all, concentrated elemental energy, and eating slimes without diffusing that energy will have similar side effects as eating a chunk of fire/ice/a sparking battery/dirt or a huge rock. He will have to seek out medical treatment for the discomfort that ensues.
Eating Hilichurls and wolves is possible, but he will have to fight them first, and he will also be bearing any negative IC consequences from being seen. Such an act is greatly frowned upon and will result in NPCs avoiding him or refusing to serve him at shops. We also ask that you warn for any potentially triggering content if you choose to thread this out. He will also only have a human digestive system, which puts him at risk of intestinal diseases and side effects from eating tainted creatures such as the Hilichurls.

I have a question regarding new locations, specifically player-run locations that aren’t businesses. For example - Ochako wants to build a public kamidana dedicated to a god from a different world, so anyone could visit it, pray there, or give offerings, if they wanted. But this isn’t really a business, so how would we go about submitting that? Just add it to the locations page like normal and note that it’s not a business, but it’s there for everyone to visit as they wish?
Also! She had another idea about creating a sort of training center for those with Visions, basically to just give them a space to safely practice with their Visions without risking danger to themselves, anyone else, or the city! Would something like that even be possible? If not, that’s fine, but if yes - how would she need to do to make that happen?
no subject
Thank you for your question! The head mod did not remember to consider the possibility of player made locations that aren't businesses, so we'll update the locations page to include player-run locations and notify you when it's done.
As for the Vision training center, could you elaborate a bit more on her plans? How big would the facility be and does she need a building? There are plenty of flat clearings outside of Mondstadt, but building a new permanent structure would be difficult.

i'm planning on apping cinnabar from houseki no kuni, who is a mineral life form made of cinnabar. like their real life stone counterpart, they are toxic to organic life because they secrete a mercury compound. in canon, it floats around them and they have the ability to control it to some degree and use it as a weapon, which would obviously be nerfed. however, they don't have complete control of it and it's always seeping out of their body, which means they generally can't touch anyone and lead an isolated lifestyle - this is a very important part of their character. would it be possible for them to arrive with the physical property of being poisonous (since i'm not planning on humanizing them) but without the ability to control it and fight with it as they do in canon, with that being something to possibly be regained later? it wouldn't be immediately fatal or anything, but maybe it would hurt a bit to touch them / it would make people feel sick. i also feel the need to note this would be useless as a combat ability because they're super fragile physically! it would just be for character purposes.

And if they are, does it work like a regular Tevyat-weapon in that they can use their Vision powers through that thing? Basically, in the case of August here, can he use his (currently just a normal, nerfed, not demonic) tarot deck as a catalyst and channel Electro through it or will he need one of the guild issued ones?
