Mondstadt: The City of Wind and Song
A city of freedom that lies in the northeast of Teyvat. From amongst mountains and wide-open plains, carefree breezes carry the scent of dandelions — a gift from the Anemo God, Barbatos — across Cider Lake to Mondstadt, which sits on an island in the middle of the lake. The weather in Mondstadt is pleasant and cool, with mild winters and breezy summers. In the distant past, Mondstadt was a bitterly cold place - the power of the Anemo Archon parted the mountains and blew away the never-ending snow. Mondstadt considers its trademarks the Dandelion, Flight and Wine, the first three things that its people learned from Barbatos. Every year, the nation celebrates Ludi Harpastum, a fifteen-day long festival commemorating children and the nation's hope for a brighter future.

Mondstadt (City)

Mondstadt is the main town of the namesake nation. Located in the west of the Starfell Valley region, the city features cobblestone streets and several windmills surrounded by a large stone castle wall on the east lower end. A statue of the Anemo Archon watches over the city, with the Favonius Cathedral in the back. The main gate of Mondstadt faces southeast, with the Whispering Woods to the east and Springvale to the west. A side gate facing east allows access to the city docks on Cider Lake. The Market District and Residential Districts remain lively even into the night, and the sound of music is a common feature of a city that prides itself on its bards.
Favonius Cathedral

Once a place for the nobles to look down on the poor and weak, the Favonius Cathedral is now a place where those poor and weak people can be taken care of and assisted. Even scholars and enthusiasts come from all over the world to see it. The Cathedral's interior contains an altar and a prayer hall, and relics of the Church of Favonius are kept tightly guarded in its basement.
The exterior of the Cathedral borders the open square where the statue of Barbatos is located. The church square is a common place for bards to gather and share their songs.
Knights of Favonius Headquarters

The Knights of Favonius act as the lawmen of Mondstadt, keeping its citizens safe and creating and upholding laws for all. Currently, the Grand Master, Varka, is out of Mondstadt on an expedition with his squad. In his place, Jean is filling in as the Acting Grand Master.
The Knights' Headquarters also house the only Library in Mondstadt. The current Librarian, Lisa, is willing to let Travelers borrow from their collection, or enter the library to browse. However, books borrowed must be returned on time... or else.
Characters may approach the Knights for help if they face difficulties or are victims of crime. The Knights also welcome adventurers to give them a hand at maintaining the peace of Mondstadt.
Adventurers' Guild

The Adventurers' Guild occupies a small two-storey building near the entrance of the city, where the Bulletin Board and the receptionist Katheryne can be found. Katheryne handles the posting and organization of commissions that residents put up. The Guild also offers Adventurers the chance to rest and socialize in its main hall to exchange information and build connections.
The guild's motto is "Ad Astra Abyssoque," which means "To the Stars and the Abyss."
Characters may register their name at the Adventurers' Guild. They will receive a simple weapon upon signing up. Consistently completing commissions for the Adventurers' Guild may lead to characters being offered more complex commissions and greater rewards for their service. Characters may also post their own commissions, though they will also be required to pay up the offered rewards.
Cider Lake

A natural freshwater lake.
The lake's wide, crystalline appearance has remained unchanged for eons — so clear you can see the bottom, and cool and refreshing to drink. It is none other than these headwaters that brought Mondstadt's ciders and wines to fame and made the lake the symbol of Mondstadt that it is today. Fish abound in the waters of Cider Lake, though most fishermen prefer to cast their rods from the coast rather than row a boat out to the middle of the lake.
Windrise

A valley surrounded by winds. In its middle grows a large oak tree.
The plains of Windrise are blanketed by soft grass and the occasional Windwheel Aster. Dendro Slimes are frequent surprises for travelers through the area. The shade of the tree protects the Statue of The Seven built at its feet from the rain and the wind, like Vennessa once protected Mondstadt.
Starfell Lake

Immediately east of Mondstadt's Main Gate is the thickly forested Whispering Woods. Small Lamp Grass are found in the area, emitting a soft blue glow to light the trees' shade. Following the winding path through Woods would lead travelers to the sunny spot known as Starfell Lake. A poem says that a star once fell to the earth, forming this lake. But other tales say that even the stars that shine as bright as the Anemo Archon's eyes will fall into this lake. Calla Lilies are commonly found on the banks of lakes in Mondstadt, and Starfell Lake is no exception.
Falcon Coast

Stretching eastward from Windrise to the sea, Falcon Coast — together with Cape Oath — shelters the sea from three sides, creating a bay that sits east of Mondstadt.
Given the long coastline and shallow waters, citizens of Mondstadt often come here to enjoy a nice stroll. On occasion, you can see falcons soaring high above the blue waves that brush upon the white sand. Crabs and seashells are commonly found on the beaches, though it takes a certain agility to catch a crab before it burrows into the sand!
Cape Oath

In the southeast corner of Mondstadt's surrounds lies a cape that borders with Galesong Hill.
Legend has it two lovers made an oath to each other here, and left behind a deeply touching story. To this day the area is still known to be popular amongst young lovebirds.
Other than being a great vantage point for watching sunrises and sunsets, the drop in terrain makes it easy to see Windrise, which sits facing the sea.
Springvale

A sleepy little village to the south of Mondstadt, that sits facing the lake that surrounds the city. Springvale features dirt-paved areas and one-story tan houses with blue tiled roofs. One singular windmill watches over the town, with a naturally-occurring spring right below it.
Most of the village's residents are hunters that provide fresh meat for all the big restaurants of Mondstadt. Springvale's rustic appeal attracts many tourists. If you are lucky in your travels, you may come across a restaurant that truly knows how to bring out the best qualities of Springvale's meat.
Dawn Winery

Nestled in the land southwest of Mondstadt sits the winery that has passed down the legacy of Mondstadt's traditional wines and ciders for generations.
The grapes grown here are used to produce a range of wines that are popular right across Teyvat. Every year's products are split, with a portion being sold locally within Mondstadt, the rest is sold off via the trade route that sits south of the city.
Wolvendom

A region of deep forest where the wolves of Mondstadt reside. The wolves share their territory with some hilichurls, and are watched over by the Wolf of the North, Andrius. The dense thickets of the area bear Wolfhook fruits, and rich ore is said to be found in the cliffs nearby... but if you wish to take any of Wolvendom's bounty, it might be prudent to consult the Dominator of Wolves beforehand.
There are also rumours floating around that a young man has been seen running with the wolf pack, as if he is a wolf in human form...?
Stormbearer Point

The northeastern sibling of Cape Oath and the other cliff that brackets Falcon Coast.
These high mountains were once a place to observe upcoming storms. Storm-watchers would keep vigil over the sea and send smoke signals to the city when a storm is on the horizon. Nowadays, all that remains is an abandoned watchtower with monsters roaming around.
Thousand Winds Temple

A collection of temple ruins that sits northeast of Mondstadt.
According to local legend, millennia ago this area was a temple for worshipping the Anemo God. Though it has been left to waste for centuries, leaving the ruins you see today. If you look closely at some of the stone pillars, you can still faintly make out some elegant carvings. This long-forgotten symbol of commemoration is engraved with the maxim: "Wind brings the seeds of tales, time allows them to take root."
Dadaupa Gorge

A mountain located near Mondstadt and inhabited by a large number of hilichurls. This place is known for being dangerous, with the less commonly seen mitachurls and samachurls in the area.
In the middle of the Gorge lies the Forgotten Sword Cemetery, sealed by an ancient barrier. Hundreds of years have passed, and the world is once again at peace. This forest of blades stands as testament to the song of clashing swords, the battle-hymns of warriors, the thundering footfalls of monsters, and the crimson sky, as red as blood.
Stormterror's Lair

Ruins of an ancient city filled with magical mechanisms and painful memories. The one who once dwelt in that lonely tower is no more. The murmuring winds that shroud the desolate city tell of that most ancient of stories, which no mortal now remembers: they tell of their erstwhile master, the nameless wind sprite, and the chorus that caused the tower to quail...
Thanks to the efforts of the outlanders, the barrier and traps around the area have been disabled and the ruins are free to visit.
Dragonspine Mountain
A mountain that lies to the southwest of Mondstadt. An unnatural chill pervades the mountain, and the snow that gathers on it never melts all year. The extreme cold deters all but the most determined of adventurers, and it is known to claim the lives of many that try to scale it. The remains of Durin, a venomous dragon, lie on the northern face of the mountain, preserved - or perhaps sealed - by the never-ending snowfall. Ruins and a Statue of the Seven found on the mountain suggest that it may have once been inhabited.

Established by the Adventurers' Guild, the Base Camp contains tents and other amenities for exhausted hikers to rest and prepare for their provisions. While some researchers and scouts staff the area, they do not venture deep into the mountain due to the extreme dangers. However, Vision users probably have better odds at braving the mountain. A stone path leads into the mountain from Base Camp.
One of Forneus' doors can also be found here as of April 2021.
A vast network of ruins that can be found halfway up the mountain. The presence of a Statue of the Seven as well as well-chiseled walls suggest that people once lived here. Some rooms are sealed by rune locks that require ingenuity to be broken. It is possible to find traces of civilization in the form of rock furniture and metal tools, but anything that might record the identity of these lost people are not easily found. There's also the matter of those buried Ruin Guards all around the mountain...
Not a living soul has been here for a long, long time.
This tree seems familiar, doesn't it?
Why is it here and not in a Domain? And what's that red thing over there?
If you follow the red snow on the mountain, you'll find yourself at the foot of a really big rib cage and a cave entrance. Going into the cave will bring you to a red... thing. The inside of the cave is warm and comfortable, however the red thing is definitely moving and not just a little bit creepy. There are some red jewels on the ground that can also be found around the mountain. Holding them makes you feel warm, but you probably shouldn't hold them for too long. If you really do keep the stone on your person for more than 24 hours, the jewels will begin to pulse as if with a heartbeat.
Don't eat the red snow. Seriously.
The inside of the mountain seems to be partly composed of a hollow cave full of ice crystals. It's very pretty, if you ignore the fact that you are going to freeze to death twice as fast inside. Hilichurls seem to be fine with the cold though.
There are large ice clusters inside the cave that can't be melted with Pyro skills. You'll have to use a different strategy if you want to break out whatever is frozen inside.

Description: It’s basically a kamidana, so just a small, public shrine! It’s a little rough around the edges, but it’s sturdy enough to withstand the weather. Inside the kamidana itself is a ferret statue made of stone, as well as two small plushies of a ferret and a one-eyed fox. (art from here!) Nearby is a box for offerings if you’re not inclined to leave them on the shelf! At the top of the kamidana is an inscription reading:
Flower Crowned Martial God & Crimson Rain Sought Flower
Xie Lian & Hua Cheng
What it offers: Visitors to the shrine can pray, or make offerings (which can be anything, as Xie Lian is a scrap-collecting god). If they’ve had bad luck recently, they can leave a token here so that Xie Lian may take their bad luck on himself. Xie Lian is also a martial god, so prayers can also be for things like strength and prowess in battle.
