STRENGTHS
Determination. No one who has ever met Edward Elric could fail to realize he is incredibly determined to complete his goals, whatever they might be. He's unendingly persistent and unwilling to give up no matter what the obstacle. Even on finding out how Philosopher's Stones are made (hint: it's people) Ed isn't willing to surrender his goal of returning his brother to his body once again. He'll just find a way that Isn't That.

Intelligence. Ed is very much a guile hero. He's smart in a way that frequently surprises and astounds people and there isn't much he can't grasp academically - he's very much book smart, but has street smarts to back that up. His failings tend to be more in the people-smarts - Alphonse is way better at social niceties, as are most of his other friends, while Edward sort of says whatever the hell he wants all the time.

Loyalty. Ed would die for anyone he cares about hands down in an instant no questions asked. Sure, he would do it for other people, too, but Edward is very dedicated to the people he cares about. There is nothing he wouldn't do for his brother and Winry and his other friends and family (except maybe drink milk or be Nice) and once he decides he likes someone his faith in them isn't easily shaken. He's ride or die for people.

Kindness. Although Alphonse is WAY more likely to be the Elric brother people think of when they think of kindness, Edward has a soft heart underneath all the gruff. He can't leave people alone when they're in trouble despite himself, and while he can be crotchety about helping out he always ends up helping out in the end...something Alphonse notices and points out to other people, because Alphonse is his elder brother's biggest fan. Ed will say that other people's problems are other people's problems, but in action he will always end up meddling and trying to help out. He's just not good at ignoring people in trouble or pain.

WEAKNESSES
Temper. Easily Edward's most obvious failing is his quick temper. He gets better about it as time goes on, sure, but even by his current canon point he is still very quick to yell and snap to anger, even if it tends to burn out just as quickly as it starts and even if he never actually tries to hurt anyone (aside from the bad guys, generally, or himself occasionally in the self-sacrificing way) when he's upset. He has once or twice fought with Alphonse when upset, but they always figure themselves out pretty quickly indeed.

Pride. His second most obvious failing is pride. Edward is, uh...a little full of himself and his abilities sometimes, even if he can be put in his place pretty easily and quickly and he does respect others and can admit when he's wrong. His pride, in fact, tends to be more of an issue in that he can hold a grudge for a while and won't be willing to backtrack it easily - this shows itself most with Hohenheim and Mustang, who Ed "dislikes" for separate reasons and whom he refuses to admit he doesn't actually entirely hate even though he demonstrably cares about both of them in his own way. He has a hard time copping to things like Feelings.

Self-sacrificing. Not as obvious until you know him, but Edward would 100% throw away life and limb for other people, and that is something he has had beat out of him to certain degrees but it still...persists. He would never sacrifice someone else, but he doesn't place himself very highly in comparison to literally everyone else in the world, which is a problem. His friends and family usually keep him in check, but they aren't here, are they?

Guilt. Despite having heart to hearts about it Ed will pretty much always carry the guilt of convincing Alphonse to try to bring their mother back and costing his little brother his body in the bargain. He also carries the guilt of every other person he has ever failed to save. Edward does not forgive himself easily or often when it comes to those he has lost or thinks he should have been able to save, and carries the weight heavily.

GREATEST MOTIVATIONS
Hands down Edward's greatest motivation in life is getting Alphonse his body back. This is followed by getting his own limbs back, but as in everything else, Al comes first to him.

MUNDANE/TRIVIAL INTERESTS
Honestly, Ed doesn't have a ton of mundane interests he goes into a lot. He's dedicated his entire life to alchemy for a reason and tends to focus there - but he does show genuine curiosity about other things when they get into his line of sight and is willing to learn about just about anything or at least respect other peoples areas of expertise. He doesn't really do "hobbies" beyond alchemy and combat though...I'm sorry he's this way.

SETTING
Edward has a quick temper so he's sure to yell a lot at first, but he's not an idiot and he's very determined. He'll quickly turn his mind to the problem of getting home to Alphonse and the others, regardless of what it takes. He'll also be torn between being frustrated at Teyvat's alchemy and fascinated - it doesn't work like he thinks it should. In terms of how he gets along with other people...as long as someone can handle the hot blooded shounen stuff, he'll get along well enough with them. Edward doesn't hate people or anything.
Abilities:
• First the nerfed superpower. Edward uses alchemy, which is science in his canon but pretty much is akin to magic anywhere else. It allows him to transmute things into other things. Equivalent exchange is the basis of alchemy, so there are rules - but he can do a lot with it and isn't required to use alchemical circles like most other alchemists as he has seen the "Truth" and can make himself into the circle.

• He's a shounen protagonist, so it probably comes as no surprise that Ed is good at combat. He is very much a combat pragmatist and will 100% do whatever is necessary to win - though he draws the line at sacrificing other people (he tries to sacrifice himself sometimes but weirdly none of his friends or family ever let him).

• Then we have the in spite of being a shounen protagonist level of intellect. Ed is hotheaded but he's also frankly a hardworking genius. He's an alchemical prodigy and is able to grasp difficult and new concepts quickly and easily, even doing his yearly research projects at the last minute and skating by. He's a fast learner and applies himself to anything that remotely interests him with passion and dedication.
Inventory: Himself, his clothes, his metal arm and leg...he only really has various knickknacks in his pockets right now. A broken watch, a wallet with useless currency, and a few things for auto mail maintenance. Nothing major, because he's used to being his own weapon.

Vision: Cryo
Reason: I felt like Ed could have fit into several of the elements given the descriptions in the FAQ, but I feel cryo is ultimately the best fit because his story is built around loss and how one deals with and recovers from that. FMA began, for Edward, with the loss of his beloved mother. From there he nearly lost his brother and gave up willingly limbs to tie Alphonse to the world. While there's a lot more to the plot of the manga, for Edward it is very much a journey of coming to terms with what he has lost and finding out what he would be willing to lose - or, rather, surrender - in order to secure his brother's body once again.
Role: Offensive, hands down.
Constellation: The Flamel symbol.
